I had the same problem and can confirm that this was resolved by creating a correct ( and missing ) NAT rule. I reviewed my NAT rules and realized there was not one present at all to match the traffic I was generating, but the text of the error was certainly confusing ( not to mention that it matches the wrong drop code…

For anyone else who finds this thread and got a little confused like I did, you have to import the FireWall Action Template first, which can be done from the Device —> Log —> Settings section. SonicOS 7.0 Device Log - Import Template - SonicWall That said, having imported I do not see " Firewall Action " in the list of…

Much appreciated. Updated to 7.1.1-7051 about 18 hours ago. So far the CPU seems to be under control. I'll try and chime in again after few a few more days.

Yes. I'm running 7.1.1.-7047 on a TZ470 and just noticed the same CPU core 0% runaway process that you reported. I'll try the fix posted here.

Ah…..this has been answered here:

Looks like it's the tRemoteBackupd process. So far as I know I'm not using remote backup of any kind.

On a brighter note, it looks like as of firmware released 3-2022 for TZ470 you can now at least search-filter the ugly and badly sorted list. That's a plus.

Sigh. I know you gents are almost certainly correct. I did....I have.....and I'll brace for the inevitable. Thanks for the sanity check....

Very unfortunate that there isn't a better method. Good call on entering a support case. Hopefully that is in fact logged and reviewed.....in part I understand that this model helps keep the overhead light, but I'm with you; how did such a commonly-used menu ever make it past QA in this state?

I fail to grasp how this addressed the possibility that there isn't a change order in effect for a scheduled future FW update release. It's sorting a list. Improving the utterly broken sort as it is now shouldn't involve " re-doing " the circuitry.

Thanks, Preston. No luck, and as of today they STILL haven't added this one to the DB. Looks like I'll be blocking it on my own. 😏Thanks for the helpful links!

Make sure ping is enabled on the LAN interface on both units. By default it is not enabled.

This one was my fault entirely. Apparently the VNC flavor I was using was also using SOCKS, and app filter was blocking the socks component and I had to make a separate allow for SOCKS. Had to monitor the event viewer to realize that. Duh.

Ultimately, though, a system which doesn't seek feedback from customers suggests a management structure that is ignorant ( cluelessly or willingly ) of why customer opinion matters. Some organizations don't operate this way, and you can tell by how much more often you get an agent that is willing to think and help, and…

My limited experience seems to suggest that " it depends on who you get ". I used to work product support at Linksys many years ago, and we had more than one agent who understood how to " game the system " by slyly getting the customer to go away without becoming aware that they were being shoo'd out the door. Since the…
